Wonder Blazers to the Rescue!
Blazers and jackets can do wonders. No, they won’t clean our houses, do our laundry, or make us dinner, but they can work for us. Want to look business like? Want to hide a few pounds? Want to look taller, shorter, or totally put together? Well blaze on ladies!
So here's how you can make blazers “work” for you…….
Don’t flaunt it – hide it! Women have used blazers to hide things for years. We have all done it. That dreaded muffin top that won’t budge – not even a crumb? Pardon the pun. The blazer has come to our rescue, and has helped us hide our expanding middles. Thank you! No matter what we are hiding, (even the safety pin keeping our pants on) we can hide in style!
If you have no waist and you want to give yourself one, just wear a belted outfit and then put a blazer over it. I do this all the time and it works. I’ve even been asked “have you lost weight”? Love it!
If you desire to elongate your torso, try a duster length blazer. I wear this type of blazer with a skirt and high heels and I feel, and I believe, look taller and thinner. A miracle I tell you!
For that unquestionable, totally together look that is necessary for that job interview or important meeting, a tailored blazer with a matching skirt or slacks will definitely do the work for you. Just make sure the colors are more neutral. You want them to see you, not your multi-colored red and orange blazer.
For a “together” look that is a bit more casual – the unstructured blazer. This is a looser cut blazer with no defined waist. Since this style is more relaxed, it is therefore more versatile. It can carry you through several occasions on the same day – from work to a ball game. No wonder we love our blazers!
